Duinwijck Technisch Advies (formerly known as Het Advies Collectief) is a consulting firm in Amsterdam and is specialized in projects in the area of installation engineering that range from houses, offices and business premises to schools. Peter van der Woerd, owner-director, and Jeffrey Lucas, Revit modeler, speak about the BIM processes of two housing projects they are currently working on.
The Seyster Veste housing corporation will replace the current 705 rental apartments in the Kerckebosch district in Zeist, The Netherlands. There will be a completely new neighborhood in different phases with rental/purchase homes and amenities. Peter: “We are now busy with the first 153 low and high-rise homes. We engineer in Stabicad for Revit for this project. Seyster Veste wants to work in BIM with this new building project in order to use the data from the model for multi-year maintenance planning, for better build quality and failure cost reduction. The only further requirement is the exchange of models in IfC format. We can now deliver the work drawing (level of Development 400) from the model. We go to LOD 500 for the management and maintenance. The BIM process was initially a bit slow in starting because different parties had only just begun with BIM. We’ve worked with BIM since 2011 and have experienced the rapid development of Stabicad for Revit because the market demands it.”
